New Bikes

The kids got new bikes. They has both out grown the cranks on the bikes that they had.

Lexy got this sweet pink ride. (How about that frame JRuss? Fender built in...) She loves riding it. She has done a bunch of laps around Tackett Circle. It is just at the top of her reach, but her balance has grown quite a bit since she skates so much.

Isaac got a black 18 speed. We had to take one back, just not strong enough for a BOY. This one seems to be a lot better. He was headed for a spin after scouts the other night...
Now I gotta find us a trail to ride together...

Update...

Well ,it feels like we have been pretty busy...

Last week was Amy's last week of class in Beckley for the bookwork portion of her program. They had a HUGE test. It was an all inclusive from Jan 2009 to April 2010 Pharmacology test. It was a make or brake test. They HAD to get at least an 80% or they would be kicked out of the program. Amy got a 87%...! We all knew that she could... She was very excited that Lora her friend that has been studying with her passed as well.

The kids and I had a bit of a party ready for her when she got home Thursday night. We had the Bright family over for some BBQ and tennis. I boned out a turkey had we had the old stand by BBQ turkey, grilled drum sticks and we make buffalo turkey wings. The Barker's stopped by for a it too. It was fun to have them all over for some tennis and good food. (Jenny B makes the best salads EVER...!!)

The weekend was too fast. I sat around most of the time with a cold. Amy finally spent some time for herself and got her hair done. Lexy went to Lucy's Birthday Party (rumor has it that Cinderella stopped by). Isaac got a new bicycle (pictures to follow). Amy and I sat through the concealed weapons class again. The last time was about 12 years ago. Isaac bought the movie Avatar and watched it about 4 times. The weekend just seems to have gotten away from me, and here it is Monday morning.

I wish that I had a better post for you, but that is where we are...

New Favorite Song...

Every once in a while I find an old song that I really, really enjoy. I found this one last week. I am a Roy Orbison fan, but I had never heard this one. I hope that you enjoy it as much as I do...

Random

Been busy and haven't put together a good post in a few days... I have some sweet video to put together, I just need to do it. This single Dad stuff is for the birds. I know that my kids wouldn't get to do hardly any of the 'extras' if it weren't for Momma...

Anyway, here are some random pictures of some things.

Isaac bought a practice jersey at the pro shop. It is and old West Virginia Wild practice jersey. Now I need to get the pads to go under it. I was in South Point, Oh the other day look for a good drainage path for a small subdivision that I am supposed to have done already. I found this sweet culvert under the rail road there. It is a stone formed culvert. It's 3 feet tall and 3 feet wide at the base. Looking down the culvert it appears to be the same section the whole run. Pretty cool, I'll use it.
I wish I had a few more pictures of the spring blossoms. These trees are beautiful this time of year. Little white flowers cover the whole tree, there are pink ones too.
Check back later for a better post of the kids and the fun we have...

West Virginia Power

The kids and I caught the West Virginia Power game, it was the home opener. We got seats two rows above the visitors dugout. We had a lot of fun. The kids were excited to see that Mr Toast was there.

The WV Power played the Nashville Tourists. The Power won 5-4. It sure is fun to watch live baseball for $8 a seat and 10 minutes from home.

After the game there were fireworks. They set off the fireworks from center field. Isaac and Lexy watched them from right behind home plate up against the back stop.

Charleston Skating Competition

Lexy skated again today, as she does most days. Difference is that today she skated in the Charleston competition. She skated to the same music that she had in Louisville, but she moved up a level and used the full ice. She also did a Basic Elements #4 competition where the judges asked her to skate a particular move and she would do it. She won gold medals in both events. Yeah LEXY..!!!

Here she is starting her routine...
On the podium. Look at that pose... She is working it...
Lexy's friend from Syncro Alisa got second in the Basic Elements 4 event.
"Look Mommy, It's Gold...!!!"
Here is Lexy with all her new bling with her Mommy and Grandparents. Again with the pose... She loves the camera, and the camera loves her back... haha

Vroom vroom...

We made it back out to the track at Tyler Mountain. Isaac raced the 65cc 7-9 year olds and the 65cc open classes. He got 4th in both. He placed out of the trophies, but he got faster and faster throughout the night. He has not only outgrown his smaller (50cc) bike but is now too old to race it as well. He was little down because he wasn't as fast on the 65 as he was on his 50, but we lectured him about being safe and just finishing the races.

Start line preparations...

Jumping the big table top jump...We had lots of visitors at the track, with Isaac in this picture are Jojo and Joel Fore (great kids). Isaac had given Jojo that Fox jersey earlier in the day at Jojo's birthday party.Isaac's Grandparents came to the track to watch him race as well. Rickey had a blast watching the bikes roar down the start stretch...

Hey Jenny...

The kids got tennis rackets in their Easter baskets. We had never really played before. We headed up to the tennis courts at The Ridges clubhouse. We had a lot of fun. For some reason we didn't take many pictures. I do have a couple shots on Isaac in action. We don't follow many rules, but we have fun when we hit the ball back a forth a few times.

They both beg to go up there in their free time. It's just that they gotta have the Dad to help them.

Let us know when you want to come play Jenny...

Nice Storm

We had a nice storm last night. Lots of thunder and lightning. I got some pictures of it. I wish that I had the tripod and time exposure camera that my Dad and I did years ago in Sigurd to get the lightning shots there. But this one is pretty good too...
This shot is beside our garage looking down the road toward the clubhouse.

Easter Time in West Virginia

Well it has defiantly been a year since we moved to West Virginia. This is our second Easter in the place. We had a great day, the weather was great and we has some extended family to enjoy Easter morning breakfast with. Amy's Aunt Jean and Uncle John stopped by on there way to Indiana from New York. I am not totally sure that Charleston is on the way, but they are great to have over.

Here are the kids getting the eggs colored before the Easter Bunny came to hide them. Lexy colored most all of her's pink.
Here is our traditional Easter Bunny carrot cake. Delish...We got some sugar cookies together as well, well... Amy did.

Lexy and Isaac found a lot of eggs in the front yard. Lexy has an overflowing basket. Isaac emptied his three times...
