Valentine's Day Cookie Tradition

It's turned into an every holiday tradition at our house to have the missionaries over to frost cookies.  They even had time for dinner this night (just some smothered burritos).

Here are our current crew.  Elder Maxwell and Elder Holder, both of them have pretty special connections at our house.  They are great to have around.
Elder Maxwell couldn't wait much longer.  The cookie, aka frosting delivery system, was headed for his mouth.
Elder Holder was spending his time making them purty.
Lexy was very focused on her cookies.  She must have frosted a dozen each with fun designs.
Isaac frosted cookies too, but mostly just for his mouth.  I didn't even catch him long enough to get a picture.

Lexy's Valentine 2013

Lexy's Valentine celebration lasted for days and days this year.  There was a school dance, her Valentine box, treats from friends, and heart tattoos that wouldn't go away.

This is my little sweetheart at the dance in her heart print dress, perfect for the Valentine's Day Dance.  Yes, here is a little attitude in that face.
She and I put together her Valentine Box by painting an old shoe box white, then Lexy cut our heart stencils, and together we sprayed the hearts all over the box in random placement with both pink and red paint.  Not another one like it anywhere.
Lexy has been in a doughnut haze lately, so it was fitting that she gave out Krispy Kream coupons for her Valentines.
The Payne girls are into the mustaches, as is Lexy, so they made chocolate mustache pops to give away. Of course they made a pink on for Lexy... :D
And the tattoos.  Those pesty little tattoos.  They were great the first day, but after a shower she still had them.  Cute, but aggghhh...
So, I found out about a little trick (thanks Coach Paul..!!)  Rubbing alcohol will pull them off.  A few dabs with a soaked cotton ball, let it sit for about 30 seconds and scrub it off.  Much better than 8 days of a half worn off tattoo.

Old Truck

Every once in a while I take a picture that I am proud of... Today is one of those days.

Winterplace Ski Resort - Feb 2013

Isaac joined the John Adams Middle School Ski Club this year.  He was pretty excited to do so.  It began an obsession for him of finding skis that he wanted and wishing for snow.  There has been enough snow to get all 5 of their planned trips in.  I even got to chaperone two the the trips, that means that Lexy got to ski as well.

Here is a quick pic of me to harass a friend that had texted me wondering if I could help them with something that evening.  Nope, I was busy.
Lexy is so super cute in her pink, on pink, on pink.  She really took off and learned to get her turns under control so that she could tackle the blue runs.  She like to tell folks that she was skiing the double black diamond runs because the terrain parks were listed that way.  She had a blast on the box rails and small jumps.
I do not have a picture of Isaac standing on the slopes.  He wouldn't hold still long enough.  He was either charging down the hill or hanging with his buddies.  But I was able to get this video of him.

Once we were on the lift it was a bit easier to get a picture.  Here's all three of us bundled up.
Lexy and I making silly faces.
Isaac was too happy to make a silly face.
This was Isaac and I with the lights in the background.  The view was awesome of all the trails and the village at the base of the hill
Poor kids, both of them have the ski bug like I get... Guess we'll have to go again sometime.
