More Skating

The kids and I let Momma study all afternoon. We when to the movies, we watched Planet 51. Then we when to the Ice Arena. It was a good day on the ice. Isaac was pretty excited when I got skates again. Both the kids are learning a lot. We are going to keep taking them and putting them in lessons. We feel like it is a great skill for them to have. Lexy is eating it up. We got word this week that the Beginners Synchro team is going to keep practicing. I hope that they are able to compete again this season. It is fun to support her in something that she loves.

Here is a little video that I shot with my Blackberry as I followed the kids around on the ice today. The quality is a little lacking but it sure is fun. There a some shaky spots in the camera work, but I did stay on my feet. Enjoy.

Thanksgiving at Our House

Well, nobody came to our house for Thanksgiving dinner. We did have Cpt Ben over for Football and Pie, but it was just to four of us for dinner. So we didn't even get out of our PJs. We did the typical dinner and a 1.25 to 1 pie ratio.

Lexy ready to eat.

Isaac ready to eat. Our bird. Not the prettiest one we have made, but it was 'sabrosa'.
Amy has taken over the rolls. She has make our classic rolls the last 50 times we had them at our house. That used to be my thing.
Stuffing. Aunt Lynnie's famous stuffing. It's a sage sausage stuffing, Mmmmm good...
These are our VERY candied yams. We ended up with a carmel type syrup around them in the dish. There are good though.
A few years ago we started cooking cranberries into our own sauce. I prefer them over the can shaped jelly. And they are just about as easy.
Like I said we are in our PJs.Pie, pie, pie. We made pumpkin, pickle (2), pecan, and chocolate cheese. Like I said before there was more pie that people, just the way we like it.
Guess what Amy did most of the day... Yep...

WVU Basketball

The kids and I went to a WVU Basketball game (Amy, you guessed it, stayed home to study). The game was in Charleston at the Civic Center. The Mountaineers come to Charleston a couple times a year to give the fans here a chance to go to a game. We went with S4 and his two boys, JoJo and Joel. They play with Isaac at Third Base. Shawn works with me at Triad. The Mountaineers basically blew out the Citadel by 20 points. But, it was fun to take the kids to a game. Enjoy the pics...

Joel, Isaac and JoJo.Lexy Jo at our seats, not a bad seat in the house.
Teams huddled up and the cheerleaders on the floor during a time out.
The Mountaineer mascot, yes, she did fire that muzzle loader in the building, several times.

Go Mountaineers...!!!

Isaac Found Another Car

We stopped by John Haynes' (from my office) this afternoon. We were borrowing a tool. In the garage was a 1981 Corvette with a blower and the whole nine yards. Sweet ride...!!

Here is Isaac sitting in the car...
He invited Isaac back on a warm day so that they could take it for a spin.

Isaac's Rockin' Recital

Isaac has been taking guitar lessons for about 2 months now. He likes to play this electric guitar the most, he paid for most of this one at the pawn shop himself. He has been working hard on making sure he knew his song. We did make the mistake of forcing him to wear a jacket and it got in his way a little. But he did great. We ended up running in to two other families that we know at the recital, we had no idea that they would be there.
This video is a quick one. The software put some hiccups in the audio and video link. If you are interested in the unedited video please let me know.

Broncos Didn't Win

Well we had fun anyway. Isaac and I when to the Broncos and Redskins game with our friend Ben, he is the man with the hookup. It was a long fun day. I could go on and on about what I think about the players, and the game. But instead here are some pictures from the game.

Isaac and I just after the game. Boy they cleared the stadium in a hurry. This is a shot of the field from our seats. We always have our eye on Champ Bailey, plus he was playing his old team.
This is kind of a cool pic, if you look you can see the ball just leaving his foot.
This is Isaac enjoying the game and the sun.

Thanks for taking us Ben...!!!

Washington DC

Isaac and I went to Washington DC today. I was fun, but just as tiring as I remembered from last time. My feet are sore. We only had a few hours so we packed in some quick sites.

Isaac in front of the house where Abraham Lincoln died. This is right across the street from Ford's Theater, where he was shot.
Isaac in front of the bed where President Lincoln died in 1865. Isaac and our friend Ben in Ford's Theater, the balcony behind them in where Lincoln was shot.
Isaac and an FBI cruiser.

Isaac and the Washington Monument. He could find The Mall. He was a little sad that they didn't have a Game Stop at the National Mall.

Some fat guy and the Washington Monument. Nice shot Isaac.
This is three shot pasted together. In the sun is was hard to line up the shots.
We had a great time. Thanks for taking us Ben..!!!

Great Concert

Last week Isaac and I got invited to go the a concert with his friend David and David's Dad. They had extra tickets. It was quite fun. I always like live music, but this was great, better than I expected. The show was Night Ranger, Styx and REO Speedwagon. I was amazed at the energy they all had and the amount that they were able to put into the crowd. Isaac had a blast. Styx had the best showing.
Styx
Night Ranger

REO Speedwagon

Isaac loved the "backstage" area that was to the side of the stage, right where we would come and go. There was a case with about 25 guitars in it, he was all about that.ROCK ON !!!
Oh yeah, by the way, Isaac has his first guitar recital this Saturday at 9am. He has been practicing hard to make sure it's a good show.

Fall in West Virginia and Ohio

The leaves have turned and dropped here. We didn't get out as much as I wanted to but we did get some cool pictures of the leaves. There is a little bit of everything on this post. There are some shots of our family pictures. There are shots of roads where I am working on waterline plans. There are pictures from Bridge Day and some from just driving around.

My friend Aspen in Utah wanted to see some pictures of the leaves and such here in West Virginia. So, Altoid, here ya go...

I hope that we have a bit more time next year to look around and find more of these places.

I hope you all enjoy these picture.
Afrin, let me know if ya need more fall leaf pictures.
