Christmas Morning

Well, more like Christmas weekend...  The kids and I had a great Christmas.  WE carried out most all of our traditions, so fun.  Here are the pictures we collected.

Isaac got a little wrapped up in the Christmas lights.  He was ok with it though.
Then Lexy tried.  Yep, she was tangled too.  Here is her frustrated look...
Before it was all done they were both covered in lights.
By the time we were ready for bed on Christmas Eve Lexy had written a letter for Santa and borrowed a dollar from Isaac to leave with it.  (Sorry I couldn't get this to rotate right, so I gave up.)

The letter says:

Dear Santa,
Here is a dollar for all the joy and cheer you give to all the boys and girls.  Please enjoy your hard tack, cookies and milk.

Sincerely,
Lexy
PS  Here is a pencil to write back.

You'll have to ask her about the reply.

Isaac was super excited about the DragonBall Z game that Lexy gave him.
Lexy opened new skates and was ecstatic...!!!
In the made at home gifts category, Isaac got a shadow box full of pucks for each goal that he has scored this year.  There is room in there for more.  Go Isaac...!!!
Lexy got a shadow box with her skating medals all displayed for viewing.
Now the best for last.  Isaac spent a bunch of his own money to make sure he got me something that was special.  Both kids, as well as the people that knew, couldn't hardly wait for me to open it.  C.Payne said that she loved shopping with Isaac because he was so thoughtful.  So, on Christmas morning neither kid would open a single present or look at their stocking until I had opened this present.  Isaac bought me a MICROWAVE..!!!  That little stinker.  How cool is that.  We haven't had one since we moved in October.  Not that big of deal to me, but boy we have used it since he gave it to me.  It's a nice stainless steel model.  THANK YOU so much Isaac..!!!
Lexy got me some sweet new PJ pants to lounge in and some Snickers bars.  Both kids opened presents from each other before that got into the Santa stuff too.  I think they both are understanding the joy of giving.

I hope you all had good Christmas' too...!!

Random December Stuff

So this post has a bunch of random pictures and topics.  Not because I don't have something to post, but because I have too much to post.  The kids and I have been so very busy, with Christmas shows, hockey games, Christmas parties, etc.  Here are a few snapshots of our live the last few weeks.

Hockey, hockey, hockey...  Isaac's team, the West Virginia Wild (PeeWee's) is still undefeated.  They are now 12-0.  This last weekend they beat the Queen City White Railers who had been in 1st place in the league.  Both games were shutouts 4-0 and 6-0.  The shots on goal were the huge difference, 38-8 in the first game and 45-10 in the second.  Isaac played defense in both of the games.  He didn't think he played all that well, but they shut out the other team.

Last weekend was the Learn to Skate Christmas Show.  They decided to do a Charlie Brown Christmas, and asked Isaac to be Charlie Brown.  Here he is in his Charlie Brown shirt with this skates and hockey stick ready for the show to start.
Lexy skated to some of the 'elevator music' from the sound track.  It was fun to tease Ms Heidi that she kept playing the same song over and over.
After the show I was able to get some pictures of the main characters.
Lexy got these rain deer antlers.  She loves them.  This is her deer in the head lights look.
We had another set of missionaries over the make gingerbread cookies last week.  They sure enjoy it.
Everyone enjoys it.
Here is the plate of 'diet' gingerbread cookies that I took to work.  How do you like the dramatic lighting...?
Saw a hair bow made of hair picture in Pinterest last week.  So, I did Lexy's hair that way.  I like.
On Friday night the kids had their Alum Creek Elementary Christmas Dance.  They were both so excited.  Lexy rules the roost.  She and her friends were having so much fun.  No she is not wearing lip stick, my guess is the flash in the dark made her lips stand out.
I hope to post some video from the skating shows in the next few days.

Third time makes it a tradition...

So, this is the third year in a row that we have had the missionaries over to decorate Christmas cookie, make candy etc.  I guess that makes it a tradition. The other night we had Elder Stoker (from St. George) and Elder Wiederholt (from Portland) over to frost cookies.  I am pretty sure that they had a blast.  Here is one action shot.  Lexy was making sure they knew how to frost.
Then we have a lot of poses with the decorated cookies.  I told them that the standard protocol was to eat the first one that you frosted.  These trees are the first ones that they did.  It was pretty funny they were each claiming to be Number 1.  Then on one picture E Stoker said, "Let's do Number 2."  E Wiederholt fell for it and we got the picture below.
So, E Wiederholt make a stocking that said "#2"... And E Stoker was teasing E Wiederholt about his crush on Taylor Swift by making a cooking proclaiming the love...
We even got one group shot of all of us.

Isaac's Birthday Party

Isaac's Birthday Party at the ice rink turned out great...!!!  We had a great turn out, he got great presents, we all had a great time.  They skated, played the Kinects, ate cake, and just had fun.  Just after this picture the boys started chanting "Cut the Cake!  Cut the Cake!" because Isaac told them he didn't want to eat the cake because he liked it so much.
This is most, but not all, of the boys that came to Isaac's party.  Everyone he invited from his hockey team came, most of the kids from his school that he invited came.  I was really happy at the turn out.
(Go Parker!)
One last picture with the cake before it was cut into pieces and washed down with ice cream and Cranberry Canada Dry.
He was on Cloud 9.  After the party he and I took JoJo to dinner and JoJo got to sleep over.  What a fantastic day for Isaac.

Thank You Butch for taking care of us...!!!

Isaac's birthday cake...

It's no secret that Isaac is a HUGE Dragon Ball Z fan.  He love the trivia, the show, the books, the costumes, the action figures, the tee shirts, etc.  Anything with Dragon Ball Z.  I figured it was coming, "Isaac what do you want your birthday cake to be this year?"

"Goku...  Super Saiyan 3... No Super Saiyan 5..."

"Get a picture and I'll see what I can do."  I said.

So he found one.
And I went to work.
I think we did OK...  It was about 1:30am when I got it done.
He said the hair was 3D and everything.  I stacked the scraps from cutting out the shapes it different sizes and shapes of wedges for the 3D hair look.  He is pretty excited...!!

Christmas Skating Show

This year the Learn to Skate program is doing Charlie Brown Christmas.  Both kids are going to be in the show.  Lexy will of course be doing a solo routine (it might be quite interpretative) and Isaac is the star of the story... Charlie Brown.

The show is Sunday December 11, 2011 (Yes, Isaac's birthday!!!) at 5pm at the South Charleston Memorial Ice Arena.  Please come see the show...!!! It is $4 per person.  Sorry for the cost, but it will be worth it.

Isaac's Birthday Party Invitation

Isaac's Birthday is this weekend, on the 11th.  We are having a Birthday Party on Friday at the Ice Rink.
If you read this blog you are invited.  Should be fun for the boys...!!!

Christmas Show

Both kids have been taking piano lessons.  They LOVE it..!!  Last night was their first recital.  Both of them did GREAT.

At the end of Isaac's you can see Ms Maggie, she is their piano teacher.  She is holding her baby, Jude.

Lexy's Baptism

Lexy was Baptized while we were in Utah of Thanksgiving weekend.  She was baptized on Saturday November 26th.  It was super nice.  She had most all of her cousins, aunts, uncles, and all of her Grandparents there to support her.

Here are a few pictures from the day.  Lexy and Daddy just before.
Lexy, her mom, Isaac and her Dad.
There are a bunch of cousins, look how much fun there are having..!!!

Grandma Penny, Grandpa Walbeck and the kids.

 Grandma and Grandpa Young.

A little French action

So a week or better ago I got some strange itch to french braid Lexy's hair.  We didn't have extra time, I just felt like doing it.  It was the first time ever...!!.. I sure like how it turned out.  I need to practice more to make it better and I also need to try different ways.  Overall I was pretty happy with how it turned out.

More 241543903

Here is some more 241543903 action from Grandma's house with Lexy on the bottom, Sarah in the middle and Makell reaching over the top.
At first that kids were not sure what it was all about... But after they had done it the found it as funny as I do.  It was fun for everyone.

Commander Wolfe

Isaac and his buddies at school have been working on plans for star ships and having teams for a Star Wars type battle.  They are always looking for more information on how to build lazers, transportation, and so on.  It's fun to listen to him talk about who is a spy and who is loyal, who can be trusted and who they think is a spy for the other teams.  This week he has begun writing files on different people in the group.  He told me that he even made a file on me.

A few weeks ago he found this helmet at the store, used his own money and bought it.  We know that it is the Boba Fet helmet, but Isaac is officially Commander Wolffe, he even signs the files with that name.
It's great to see the imagination of these boys to go into something non video game.

Blog On...

Wow..!!! The blog sure took a back seat to the Thanksgiving Holiday and all of the travel and other events.  Somehow I need to find a way to fit some work in there too.
