Charleston Blvd. Rod Run and Doo Wop

I took the kids to the car show today, while Amy stayed home and studied. This was a big one. The Charleston Boulevard Rod Run and Doo Wop. It stretched from Magic Island to River Front Park and beyond. Lot of classics, tons of Mustang Shelby's and late 60's Camero's. There were wild customs and some that looked like they had been polished ever week for the last 50 years.

The first car we found to look close at was this '69 Charger. Isaac was pretty excited.Lucas Oil had a big rig onsite selling all sorts of products. It looked like they had used these seats for a drag strip reaction time game. The kids had fun with them just sitting in them and pretending.
Isaac had fun looking at all the tricked out engines. This chromed out 4-barrel Edelbrock carb blew him away...Lexy liked this pink pink car. I was trying to look, I think it was a Belair, but I'm not 100% sure. Here is Isaac with an old school Cobra. Look at the fenders on that bad boy.

This late '50s Corvette was soooo clean and the paint was soooo good, I thought for a bit that it was a new car of some type, kinda like the through back T-birds. (Isaac's pic)We saw this Corvette at another car show earlier in the summer. Isaac loves this one (his picture). He likes Corvettes but the door hinges on this one make it for him. There were a half dozen hursts at the show. Some of them were hot rod style. They were fun. This one was all tricked out with sculls and a plexiglas casket with a skeleton bride that was banging the lid trying to get out. It spooked Isaac at first, then he loved it. Lexy was soooo freaked out that she wouldn't walk on the same side of the road as that car on the way back, even though it was an hour later. (Isaac took these sweet pics)

It was a cool car show, and we missed most of the good stuff on Friday and Saturday. They had concerts, burnout contests, fireworks, etc. We'll have to watch for this one next year.
